NOTES:
Don told me that growing up he was raised on farm about 25 miles from town, Camdenton, Missouri. They lived in a two room log cabin and had 300 acres of rock. The first five years, they had no electricity or phone. They cooked and heated with wood. They took baths in a bucket or stream. They raised their own food and went to town about once a month. He left home in 1960 to join the Navy. He spent two tours in Vietnam. First 4 years in the Navy all aboard aircraft carriers, then the second tour was with the Marines. Don also told me that about 1995 he tore his back up and had to retire. Don was a mechanic by trade. He was having a lot of pain in his right shoulder and was taking Tylenol to stop the pain. The pain kept getting worse and as the pain got worse, he increased the Tylenol. At about 5am a morning in October 1997, he awoke his wife and had her take him to the hospital. By the time they arrived at the Hospital ER, Don was out of it. He had Overdosed on the Tylenol. They admitted him and after that his memory of the incident was only what his wife told him. His liver was failing him, so they transferred him to Kansas University Hospital to get a transplant, but they had no donors that would match. The doctor told his wife to get the affairs in order because he would not make it through the night. Well, he fooled them, because he is the one who told me of this story. Don now has only 25 % of his liver. What is really ironic about it all, is he was in ICU in the room next to him was his 2nd ex-wife Patricia (BAGBY). She was in a coma and didn’t make it, she died.

Donald Wayne “Don” LOE, Sr. & Blanch(e) L. (HUGGINS) had at least 3 children: Donald Wayne Jr., Robert James & Margarette LOE
