Hi Barry

Good to hear from you.

I appreciate the information and possible places to search if I hit "deadend"

I really have to get to Athens Co and Washington since I know that Joseph died in Athens co and his one brother John Wesley Hufford died in Washington Co. I now have death dates on both and have been to John Wesley's grave site.

I truly believe that Joseph's parents were George Hufford and Esther(Hester) I find the 2 older boys were a George(rather hard to write) and Hester Hufford. Hester or Esther then shows up 1860 census,Warren twp Washington Co, Ohio married to Charles Turril. I found graves at Rockland Cemetery, Washington Co Ohio for John Wesley Hufford Mqy 31-1845 - Mar 1907 and his wife Harriet Vaugh 28 Setp 1838 - 13 Aug 1909. Also Esther Turrell 16 Oct 1827 - 28 mar 1918. This 3 flat/surface stones are with large upright Hufford stone. My father remembers going with his father to these graves so I know they are the right ones. If Joseph's death certificate doesn't list his parents, I hope his brother John Wesley's will. He was older when his father died and I believe that Esther is their mother. My dad also, remembers hearing about his uncle Ham- this should be William Hamilton Hufford who was born about 1848? possibly in Guernsey Co., Oh. The story is that he killed/or tried to kill someone and left the area?

Always good to hear from you and I do appreciate the information. I will keep in touch. You can do direct email to me if you like.

Dottie
