Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

SOLOMON HUFFMAN m ELENDER (ELEANOR) OVENCHAIN (OBENCHAIN/OPENCHAIN) on 22 Dec 1828 Botetourt Co VA. She was d/o RINEHOLT OVENCHAIN & POLLY HEWITT m 12 Aug 1808 Botetourt; Polly d/o JOHN HEWITT Sr.
The 1850 census of Botetourt has ANDREW HUFFMAN age 17 and ZOELIM HUFFMAN age 20 (both b PA) living with RINEHOLT OPENCHAIN age 74 b PA ca1776. Apparently SOLOMON left ELENDER and their children. There is a SOLOMON HOFFMAN who died 13 Sept 1878, New Haven, Huron,OH, age 78 b c1800 Washington PA; don't know if this is your SOLOMON or not.
If you just type in SOLOMON HOFFMAN many items come up, particularly the posting by Madge Taylor which gives SOLOMON's ancestry; also type in ELEANOR OBENCHAIN HUFFMAN; and also Descendants of Wendel Absendtschon Obenchain. And there is also on Message Boards a Linda Huffman Pease (pease@hotmail.com) whose gggrandfather was ANDREW JACKSON HUFFMAN. I'm helping an ELLISON family who also has RINEHOLT OBENCHAIN in their line, via dau ELIZABETH. Good luck to you!
