Hi Sheralene, we have chatted before about our "German/Jerman Huff" ancestors. I have found that the first name "German" has been used for quite a while. For example, Germanus was a Byzantine noble who died in 550. There was a Germanus Hough in 1642 England and a German Hough in 1819 England. I am considering that the name of our ancestors shows a possibility of English origin.
