Warren County, PA, was formed from parts of Allegheny and Lycoming counties; attached to Crawford County until 1805 and then to Venango County until Warren County was formally organized in 1819. [born about 1761] Joseph Huff, aged 45, Farmer was on the 1821 tax list of Deerfield Twp., Warren Co., PA. [born about 1776] 1830 Census of Deerfield, Warren co., PA, p. 17: Joseph Huff Benjamin’s age: 1800 Census: born before 1755. 1810 Census: born before 1765. 1820 Census: born before 1775 RE: 1821 tax list of Deerfield Twp., Warren Co., PA. [born about 1761] If he were born in 1749, the date his Rev. War record gives for him, he would be about 72, not 60. Since he apparently was the father of Joseph, who was 45 in 1821, it is unlikely that there were only 15 years difference in their ages. I do not know what to make of the age given in the 1821 tax record, unless there was an error in transcription -- I did not see the original. Notify Administrator about this message?
