Hi Sharla,
Are you still looking for John Riley Huff?
I did not have any information to offer you...but I do have free time and access to census images.I have been saving bits of info I find about Maryette Huff Jackson or John Riley Huff.
My search is for a Huff too...and I have come accross this same query regarding Maryette and a John Huff before.I do not know if the previous posting was one of yours or if others share your search.
Because I am keeping Maryette and John Riley in mind as I do my own Huff searching...I need more information from you. Do you know the birth date of one of the individuals?
One interesting bit I just found minutes ago is a census image um it is OVID (?)New York 1860.Although I do not see the name John Riley...I see two families with the name HUFF in the household...each with a Maryette Huff. One is age 4.The other is age 16.These things I can get to you through email I'm sure.
I also found an 1880 KY and an 1880 Illinois census with Marietta Huff.KY age 11.IL age 7.
Then these I am pasting below which I HAVE NO IDEA what the heck they represent. They are from ancestry.I was not able to click on any of this info. Here it is:

Surname:Huff
Location:Spencer, Indiana, USA
Date Range:1840 - 1900

Comments:John Riley Huff
Surname:Huff

I should have noted the title of this database from ancestry.I think it was a database of databases somehow!!??Oh well, it has locations and every clue helps?
Sharla your search stood out to me because mine is for Nellie Blanch Huff b 1893.My search is to find her Native American connection. I wonder if you would please keep these names in mind during your search:
The parents "I have found for her"are John Huff (on whom I have nothing excep:1845 - 1924) who married Ellen Hill 1851-1911.
But if this is her family tree...the researchers have her birthplace wrong as PENN because her living son says (and Georgia and census records of 1910 and 1920 all say) GA.
