Huff Family in Texas (ca.1865-1880)
Are there any HUFF researchers that are missing a male that may have gone to Texas?
I have an interesting puzzle that I am trying to solve. While I am in search of a census or marriage record to substantiate my theory, I am hoping that there may be a HUFF researcher that may be able to provide me with some leads.
The 1880 Federal Census for Grimes Co., Texas, lists a 14 year old male named Wade HUFF as head of household in Anderson Precinct. Also enumerated in this dwelling are three of my THIGPEN cousins. Given the fact that two are identified as aunts and the third as an uncle, I am hypothesizing that their youngest sister, Elise THIGPEN (born ca. 1849 in Tipton Co., Tennessee) may have married a male named HUFF and that Wade is their eldest, possibly only, son.
According to data provided to the enumerator, Wade's parents were born in Georgia (father) and Tennessee (mother). The latter fact would tend to substantiate the theory that Elise (also spelled Allice) was his mother. If there are any Georgia HUFF researchers that may have any leads to assist me, I would very much like to hear from you.
