My maternal Great Aunt, Violet Josephine Baker (Durkee) Huey (7/9/1894 – 8/12/1937) was married to Frank Leroy Huey (1/20/1896 – 5/26/1974). Violet first married Eugene Franklin Durkee (4/19/1894 -- ??). Marriage date unknown; ended in divorce. They had a son, Frances Edward Durkee (9/9/1913 – 7/9/1999).
Violet Josephine and Frank Leroy Huey (marriage date unknown) had the following children:
1. Helen Josephine Huey – Abt. 1922 – 2/15/1937 – died at age 15 after “an illness of nearly a year”.
2. Doris M. Huey Colvin – 6/27/1924 – 6/4/1993
3. Walter L. Huey – 10/13/1925 – 1/20/1998
4. Gus Lawrence Huey – 10/14/1926 – 2/19/1945 (WW II casualty; buried National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Hawaii)
5. Gerald David Huey – 9/26/1929 – 7/20/1997
After my aunt died in 1937 (Frank’s obit states 1938), he married Mrs. Marie Phelps on 3/23/1947.
Unfortunately, Frank took his own life in 1974. (I have the newspaper clippings.) It would appear he had been treated for stomach cancer in the preceding weeks before his death.
I have obituaries for Frank Leroy, Violet Josephine and Helen Josephine, plus the news clipping about Frank’s death. If you would like, I can send you a scan of them.
I had hoped the obits would give more links to siblings. Helen’s obit mentions grandfather G. L. Huey of Norman, Oklahoma; Frank’s obit mentions surviving sons W. L. Huey, Topeka, Kansas and Gerald D. Huey, Lawrence, Kansas and daughter Doris R. Colvin, Oologah, Oklahoma; sister Mrs. Peter Herber, Peoria, Illinois.

I am confused as to who the “Olive Irene” is. You show Benjamin’s wife as Irene S., so I thought maybe the death date is wrong OR it could have been another child of Gustin and Olive May. What do you think?
