I got this e-mail from my Aunt. "Babe is mentioned in the website below;
There's been some discussion lately about Hudspeths who may have been
associated with Jesse James's gang.

There is a website that lists the people associated with either Jesse
James or Quantrill's raiders. It does mention three Hudspeths: George
& Robert Hudspeth or Hedgepeth, and Rufus Hudspeth. The source is John
McCorkle's book, My Three Years with Quantrill.

"George Hudspeth/Hedgepeth served with Quantrill and survived the war.
Same information for Robert Hudspeth/Hedgepeth. McCorkle says that
three Hudspeths, George, Robert & Rufus went part way to Kentucky with
Quantrill, but left Quantrill at Crawley Ridge, Arkansas to go south to
fight with Gen. Price."

Perhaps this is the historical source of the Jesse James stories?

The web site is

Hope this helps. Lea
