Sorry the server hiccuped and did a double post.
Yes Thomas was the son of John and Elizabeth and Rose/Rosetta was their daughter.
Thomas was also the Mayor of Birmingham.

Macon, Ga.l October 27.
Thomas Jeffers, 76 years of age, a one timme mayor of Birmingham, Ala. died here last night at the home of his niece, Mrs. Thomas R. Hudson.
Following the war between the states Jeffers went to Birmingham, Ala., where he installed the first water works and sewarage system of that city and later the first electric light system.He was elecetd mayor later and served two terms of four years each, and during his administration the first paving of the city was laid.Age and failing health casued him to come to Macon to make his home.
During the civil war he was blockade runner and gained some prominence in the confederate army for that service.
