John, This is an amazing amount of information on WILLIAM HUDSON. I am related to both Hudson/Jaco/Ozment/Callis of Wilson County, Tennessee and am amazed to discover the families ability to marry back into itself thru history!
Both of my Hudson lines have been a challenge.
First I'll address FREEMAN HUDSON (born 1792-1795) so that you might add to your files: Freeman list in the 1817 land records book of Lunenburg County, Virginia on the 25th of August having recieved 57 acres of land from DAVID HUDSON " for the natural love and in consideration that the said David Hudson doth bare unto the said Freeman Hudson... and 5 shillings doth grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Freeman Hudson... lying in the same county."I would assume that this DAVID HUDSON was the father of Freeman Hudson.David Hudson list in the Census of Luneneburg County,Virginia 1810 as age 26-44, he would have been about age 40 in 1817 giving his 21 yr old son,Freeman, a parcel of 57 acres in Lunenburg. The 1810 Federal Census list (4) Head of Household males in their census: PETER HUDSON age 45 and over was the elder; also listed were DAVID HUDSON; JABY HUDSON age 16-25; and THOMAS HUDSON age 26-44. Freeman is not listed at Lunenburg nor is any male his age included in the households of the above males, but he is found at St Andrews Parish in Bruswick Virginia in 1820 with his young family just 3 yrs from receiving his Lunenburg land and having married the same year in 1817.He did, of course, return to Lunenburg County where his child Sarah Jane Hudson married in 1835, and where he died in 1826.
Freeman Hudson's wife, Elizabeth Callis Hudson was born 1792-1794 Virginia and died in 1869 at Wilson County,Tennessee. Her estate sale is listed in Wilson Co.TN Misc. Records 1800-1875 p 138 as April 21st.
There is an interesting note which I have stating that NICHOLAS HUDSON, son of RICHARD HUDSON who came to Virginia from London in 1635 married ELIZABETH FREEMAN. This is the only other time which I have seen that "Freeman" name associated with "Hudson" other than my ancestor Freeman Hudson.
