Obviously William was a popular/common name. Our William's grandfather (also William) came to Wales as a youth of about 16. From later data we surmise he was born between 1850 and 1860. We are trying to trace earlier ancestors (as well as modern cousins). On his marriage in Ebbw Vale, Wales, UK, he put his father's name as William, whose profession was Sailmaker. He had given his place of origin as Pensylvania Mississippi. We know no more at present, except that he was of black/Negro origin.
Sorry that your William does not belong to us.
