Hudman Origin?

Dear Sherry,
As far as I am aware, the Hudman (or Hurdman) line is from the Gloucestershire and Worcestershire area of England. (not German, but one link may be the Norman conquest, (1066 etc, where the servants or household of Hudd were called Huddman....)
I have documents from 1590 (wills etc) but going further back is a little difficult !
What are the dates for the John Hudman you are refering to ??It should tie in with the John Hudman that was "transported" ( a term for ... got to the americas, or go to jail !) a common occurance in those times.
I did send some information to Stephanie, but it may not have been the area she was researching ...
The library at Salt Lake should have the transcripts from the churches of Ripple,Tewkesbury and Twyning which contain many of our ancestors. You may want to see if they have copies of the Worcester Court Records, or Transportation Rolls.
There are still family members in the area.....
Hope this helps...... Roger Hudman.
