In the 1880 census of Washington County, Texas, we find "Chappel Hill" Humphrey Hudgins (nephew of Joel Foster Hudgins b. 1800) with a nephew of his own in his household. This nephew was Benjamin Small (age 22; born in North Carolina).
Benjamin Franklin Small (b. 15 Mar 1857 in Edenton, Chowan County, North Carolina; d. 13 Nov 1942 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas) was the son of Baker Small and Rosinna/Rosanna Hudgins of Chowan County NC.
This further supports my theory that "Chappel Hill" Humphrey Hudgins (b. abt 1820; d. 1898) was sibling of Rosinna/Rosanna Hudgins; was listed in the 1850 Chowan County NC census; and probably was the son of Jesse Hudgins (b. 1795; d. 1835) and Mary White.
