Hi Ran,

I think it likely that the immigrant Hudgens (albeit a different spelling) was related to Thomas Welborn who settled in Accomack VA and was serving in the House of Burgess by 1699. (Not proven). Instead, I am basing my opinion upon following cluster families along with naming patterns.
