I am working on theories ,too. I remember my dad telling me that there were four Huddleston brothers who came from England to America. From FamilySearch(lds), I got back to a Thomas Huddleston of 1790. Then I got information from Tippah County, Mississippi which helped me get back to a Robert Huddleston of 1720 and his unknown wife of 1723 who were in Spottsylvania County, Virginia. This led me to at first just the last name Huddleston male who was born 1690 and some sources say 1694. This Huddleston died in 1739. The text at lds says probably born here and birth is between 1690 and 1694 but they seem to be sure of the death date. Spotsylvania county didn't become a county until 1720 and some say 1721. So then I researched the counties. That was a struggle. Counties formed from earlier counties, Virginia was broke into other states, and if that wasn't enough the Revolutionary and Civil Wars helped documents being burned up in fires. A Relf Huddleston from Texas has traced backed for me and found records to a John Branch Huddleston who I have listed of 1816 and trying to trace further back.
