I spoke with a Huckabee gentleman a few years ago who lived in Swansea, SC, in Lexington County. He told me he was from Springfield, SC in Aiken County. I was trying to connect his Huckabees with mine. We could not. He said his Huckabees came from the Camden, SC area. He died recently in his 80s. It is possible that Althea is from this family. There is a Dr. Huckabee in the Lexington, SC area who is a veterinarian. He is from the Camden Huckabees and has paid a genealogist to research his family. He has since retired but he owned the Cherokee Animal Clinic on Hwy #378. Someone in the clinic could put you in touch with him.
