I was re-reading my previous messages to you and there is a mistake in them.
At one point I wrote:
“Palmer and Monson would be close to each other). The head of family is Isaac HUBERT, and his wife Marguerite. Living with them at the time you have the following children:
1 Fred, 20, born in Canada
2 Abraham, 17, born in MA
3 Henry, 15, born in MA
4 Fenelon, 13, born in MA
5 Hattie, 11, born in MA
6 Clara, 6, born in MA
7.Bertha, 3, born in MA”
So far so good. But then I added:
“Now I have found the following marriages of the following children also born of a Frederic and Marguerite HUBERT; since they all married in the USA I strongly suspect they belong to the same couple as above.
8 Charles (a. 22), to CODY, Mary Jane (a. 18, fm Schenectedy, NY) on 25 dec 1880 in Wilbraham, Mass
9 M. Exilda, to MESSIER, Pierre, on 27 Feb 1876 in Southbridge. Mass [in 1880 a Pierre MESSIER, b. Canada, 43, lives in Lowell, Mass. w/wife Exilda, b. Canada, 36.
10 Isaac (a. 23), to CARBONO (Carbonneau?), Delia (a. 21), on 25 Nov 1886-25/11 in Wilbraham, Mass
11 Louis (a. 22), to FREAK, Harriet (a. 28), on 1 Feb 1890, possibly in Vermont”
I do not know why I wrote “also born to a Frederic and Marguerite HUBERT”. I Should have written “also born of an Isaac”
I have another riddle to solve. I am puzzled by the fact that in spite of my extensive data bank on HUBERT marriages in Canada (well over 3000), the only HUBERT male I have which is married to a Marguerite is a … LOUIS HUBERT ! And to complicate matters futher, at least some of the known children born of Louis HUBERT and Marguerite (sha was a LAJOIE) lived, married or died in … Lowell, Mass ! (Edouard, Emma, Narcuisse, Rosa)
So I am still not sure whether the Fred and Henry living alone in Monson are the same as the Fred and Henry, son of Isaac HUBERT and Marguerite, living in Palmer at the time of the same census.
But as for the Isaac HUBERT married 1st to a Marguerite from whom he had children 8 to 11 above, and later, as a widower, and at age 64, to SHEPARD, Philomène (a. 59), on 25 Oct 1857 in Palmer, Mass., here is part of his ancestral line:
He was the son of Antoine HUBERT dit Fournier and Josephte (Jeannette; Justine, Rosette) BENJAMIN (married 16 Aug 1814 in Ste-Marie-de-Monnoir, Qc, Canada.
Antoine was the son of Antoine (HUBERT dit Fournier, and Elisa(beth ) or Isabelle CYR (Married 26 Jan 1789 in L'Acadie, Qc, Canada
That Antoine was the son of Pierre (at times Pierre-Paul) HUBERT and Marie-Josephte CHARTIER (married 3 Aug 1750 at St-Denis-sur-Richelieu, Qc, Canada
Pierre HUBERT was the son of Pierre-Paul HUBERT dit Fournier and Suzanne LAPORTE, date of marriage never found, but believed to have been « around 1716 » at St-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Qc, Canada,
Because their actual marriage record has not been found (to my knowledge), we do not know who were Pierre-Paul’s mother and father.
Note that some later records show Pierre-Paul as a HEBERT, a confusion that arose often especially where many HUBERTs and HEBERTs co-existed. But givebn tha name carried by their descendents was almost always HUBERT, I consider him as such.
You asked if I am related to that branch of the HUBERTs. Well, I simply do not know and will not unless and untill I can determine who were Piere-Paul’s ascendants.
