Hi Mary,
It's in a direct line: Eliphalet Hubbell to Wm. W. Totten/Eliz. Hubbell to Samuel H. Totten/Amanda Davee to U.S. Grant Totten to Darrell Totten to me. That's why I would like to find Elizabeth's folks so I could learn about the grandmas and grandpas, aunts & uncles on that side too.
I was looking at middle names among the children and grandchildren I have for Eliz/Eliphalet but haven't hit any pay dirt yet. Some of them might just have been to honor presidents (e.g., Joel Madison/Wm. Harrison Hubbell) but there's a Rabourn, Henderson, Saunders that might be worth pursuing to see if anyone has found one of them in VA maybe with an appropriately aged daughter Elizabeth. What the heck...it's worth a try!
