The following I have pretty much confirmed via primary and well-researched secondary sources:
WILLIAM HUBBARD was born about 1799 in South Carolina. His parents were WILLIAM HUBBARD (1762-1856 of Halifax, Virginia and South Carolina) and JANE REEDER (1759-1835 of Loudon, Virginia and Anderson, South Carolina).
JANE REEDER was the daughter of SIMON REEDER (d. 1797 in Newberry, SC) and ANASTASIA DUNBAR (abt. 1721-9 Aug 1802 in Newberry). Anastasia was the daughter of WILLIAM DUNBAR (1674-1754 in St Mary's, Maryland) and JANE. William Dunbar's parents were JOHN DUNBAR (ABT 1665-1709 in St. Mary's--though he was possibly born in Scotland or Ireland) and ANNE (SULLIVAN?).
