Robert A HUBBARD- New info and Question
I need the help of all Robert A. Hubbard researchers!!I have ran across a census record on Robert A. Hubbard that raises some questions and hopefully may provide us some answers.According to old family verbal history; In the mid 1890's Robert A. Hubbard after losing his wife Lucinda Smith went to Texas to visit his daughter Jane. But they never heard from him again and his daughter said he never arrived.THIS LEAVES ME PUZZLED??
Because I found an 1880 census of Lamar County Texas, Blossom Prairie District, there I find an R.A. Hubbert, age 65, White, born in South Carolina. He was living with his daughter K.J. (short for Keiza Jane) age 36 and another daughter. The current census transcriber list him as R. A. Hubbard, which after looking at census I agree fully with them, it is Hubbard not Hubbert.
R.A. Hubbard = Robert A. Hubbard, the ages match up perfect, because he was born about 1815 being age 65 in 1880,he is from the same place South Carolina and has a daughter Jane.To many similarities not to be our Robert A. Hubbard. One other piece of additional info I find here that I have never seen before is he list where his parents are from.He states his father came from Pennsylvania and his mother from South Carolina. With him being born in South Carolina this ties together.I cannot find him anywhere after 1880.
Possibility his father fought in the Revolutionary War or the war of 1812 and decided to move to beautiful South Carolina, and this is where he got married. Hopefully this lead will put a new wind in all our Hubbard researchers and together we can solve this link.
Maybe this Pennsylvania connection will help us in finding his parents, and more on Roberts past. Please help me research this and let me know what you think.Danny Skillman a proud Hubbard [email protected]
