James Hubbard of Tennessee (the Indian fighter)
Does anyone have information on the land which James Hubbard owned in Tennessee - when he acquired it, how many acres, location, and to whom and when he sold it.
From a land document in Roane County, Tennessee, Book D, page 193, 2 January 1809 it states:"John Randolph of Roane County, Tenn. ... 225 acres lying and being in the county of Roane on big Tennessee River being the lower part of a five hundred acre tract entered by Ananias McCoy and conveyed by him to James Hubbard and by James Hubbard to John Randolph ..."
In particular, I'm trying to find out exactly what the land transfer says.Did he convey it to James Randolph or to John Randolph, and when it was conveyed.
Also, do any of you know what county in Virginia James Hubbard was from before he went into North Carolina/ Tennessee?
My e-mail is [email protected] and any assistance will be appreciated.
