Hi Floyd,
I'm not sure how much I can help, but I am searching for a similar connection. I am trying to trace the origins of a small group of Hubbards that "appear" in Montgomery County, KY in the mid to late 1800s.Most of these Hubbards were born in KY (Clay County, according to marriage records), but their parents/grandparents came from VA, with a stopover, I believe, in NC before coming to KY.
I see a high degree of similarity in the first names of these particular Hubbards and the Hubbards of the North East (CT, NY, etc.). The naming pattern is so strong that I have to suspect a connection. These names are:Eli, Nathan, Joshua, Archibald, James, William and Peter.
For what it is worth, the MD/VA Quaker connection is also strong with many of the early families of Montgomery County, KY.Several of these families came to KY with Daniel Boone in the 1700s.
I am at a dead end with my line, so I am willing to check any and all avenues.Let me know if you think there could be a connection.
Debbie
