We are descendants of a Hoyt/Stevens marriage. This line may have passed down an x-linked chromosome that leads to male blindness in males carrying the damaged chromosome. Anyone dealing with this issue?
My lineage would be something like this: Stevens male married Hoyt female in the early 1800s. Their daughter married a Day in PA in 1868 or so. I don't know if the first generation of Day/Stevens was affected. I know two of their grandsons have the blindness, and some of the next generation. In other words, my grandfather and one of his brothers had this condition, and one of my uncle's grandsons. There has been a study done at Univ. of Pitt on this condition.
