This could be your John - according to Hoyt, Haight and Hight Families by David Hoyt (HHH) John Hoit son of John N Hoyt born in 1747 in NH moved to Chicago IL and was unmarried at the time of this publication. Aug. 15, 1750 [Salisbury records]; bap. In Epping, by Mr. Cutler, m. __; lived in Northwood, NH, was selectman there in 1792 and 1800. Was the son of (90) Daniel and Judith Hoyt. (90) Daniel, b. March 25, 1715, m. Judith Carr of Carr’s Island in the Merrimac River) June 24, 1736. (lots more detail on Daniel in HHH) was the son of (31) Benjamin and Hannah Hoyt. (31) Benjamin b. Sep. 20, 1680; m. Hannah Pillsbury, of Newbury, int. ent. Feb. 19, 1703-4; d. in 1748, probably 1748-9. (more details in HHH) was the son of (4) Thomas and Mary Hoyt. (4) Thomas b. Jan. 1, 1640-1; m. Mary Brown, dau of William and Elisabeth Brown of Salisbury. (This would make us distant cousins!!!!!) Thomas was the son of (1) John Hoyt – and Frances - 1st wife. (2nd wife was also Frances). (1) John Hoyt one of the original settlers of Salisbury. From HHH it unknown what ship he arrived on or at what port he arrived – so no further ancestry here although lots of details on his life.
