Thanks for that info, it is appreciated. I haven't had the opportunity to get into just which line of the Hoyt's children I am descended from, but will like any and all info you have. I have to take a bit of time and get all the ducks aligned in the row, so to speak. I know there are also family names Greene and Pearl in the mix someplace as well.

The last Hoyt in my lines was Loretta, then, into Williams line, and then, into the Ray Line. A couple of items that may be if interest to you about the Ray line Loretta was part of, My GGrandfather was Orman Pearl Ray (son of George Ray), Civil War adjutant of Virginia regiment, later to be a Judge, Vermont, and his son, my grandfather, Lyman William Ray, doctor, St. Louis, Mo. Lyman's son was my dad, James A. Ray, worked to build Boulder Dam with the Six Companies, then, station manager/dispatcher for the Southern Pacific Railroad, 1936 to 1942, then, into the Marines for WWII, (flew with Boyington). Lyman's brother was P. (Pearl) Orman Ray (b. 1975, d.1957), Professor Emeritus, Political Science, U. C. Berkeley. P. Orman was also one of the two people that collaborated with the other, that basically wrote the book(s) on which political science is based for this nation, in the works of "Ogg and Ray". One of Pearl Orman's daughters, a cousin of mine, was a Sister, Dominican Convent of San Raphael (Ca.), known as Sister May Dominic. She was the preeminent world expert on early American music.

Everywhere I seem to go in my family back to Simon and Jane, I keep finding distinguished family members. I found some Hoyt's that were representatives to the Continental Congress, helped write the Bill of Rights, and were delegates to republican conventions, legislators, all kinds of interesting things.

There are also Pettibone, Ruble, Seymour, Benedict, other names that intertwine with Hoyt along the way, as I see. Lots and lots to investigate.

My mother's side of the family is Irish, from England/Scotland as well, and there is a bunch of people there that are notable as well. Beresford, Armstrong, Stevenson, McCormick, McKeen, Stott.

I figure we both descend from a very smart pair of Hoyt's, Simon and wife. From what I have learned of Simon and Jane, they didn't just live in Charlestown, they were a major part of, along with some other families, founding of Charlestown, Mass.

Thank you very much for responding. I await any info you care to share with me.
