Catherine, you and I have spoken before. I am looking for the parents of Eva Elizabeth Hoye who married David Spessert. I believe Eva was born abt. 1777. My best guess for her parents are Paul Hoye and Mariam Waller Hoye. First Paul Hoye had land in Randolph Co.Va. in 1802. David and Eva's children lived in Randolph co. Va.(now Tucker and Preston Co. Va.)They had one male child and his name was George Spessert. George is not a name from the Spessert line, but it was Mariam Waller's fathers name. Also, George Spessert married Clorinda Gilmore a great granddaughter of Brigadier Gen. Joseph Neville of Hardy co. Va. His cousin was Lucy Neville who married William Waller Calmes. So the Wallers, Hoyes and Spesserts were blood related.
Eva Elizabeth Hoye is not listed as a child of Paul Hoye, but it is possible she was an unknown child of Paul and Mariam. The date of her birth would fit - Paul Hoye would be about 42 when she was born. I don't have any hard evidence - I am still looking, but this seems to fit. What do you think?
