Yes, you are most welcome from all of us. I did find some modest biog notes on Joel Darwin Hoy (1829-1912) online, using www.google.com. Used terms Hoy, Lampassas, Texas and it turned up some bits and pieces. Sent those to cousin Barbara Purdum.

I have as chillun of Susan Prestar: Maria T, b 1858, Joel Jr b 1859, Selinda b. 1861, Asa b. 1864, and no doubt picked up on those from messages online; and that mother Susan Prestar Hoy d. 1874 presumed in Lampassas Co, but won't vouch for that. Found the cemetery with some of the Hoy family in it online, that was found using the google search engine, but haven't gotten to putting all that info into the dbase. Tsk.

I myself didn't track the Hoy children beyond that; my interest was in the antecedents of Joel himself, since I wanted to find out if he and Elizabeth Huffman -- sister to my father's mother's mother's ... something like that.

Papa was Joel Smith s/o of Warren Allen Smith & Harriet Mary Medlock d/o of Charles Medlock and Malissa Olivine Caroline Huffman d/o of Charles B. Huffman and Martha Chaffin, who were the parents also of Elizabeth J. Huffman m1 Jesse John/John Jesse Eaton and m2 Joel Darwin Hoy.

But it didn't look to me too likely that Elizabeth Huffman Eaton Hoy had Hoy children.

I gather you are desc. of Jesse John Easton & Elizabeth Huffman. I was wondering when Thomas Jefferson had been born, and you have 1863 (I had 1865/66), so thank YOU! Yes, Emeline and Adeline were twins, b. 1870 acc. the 1880 Census, in res. with Elizabeth their mother and their step-father Joel Hoy

I greet you, cousin.

Sincerely
Susan Gillberg
