My father, Richard D. Hoy of Centre Co., PA recently passed away, b. 5/26/14. His parents were Walter Hoy and Ruth Mowrey of State College (Centre Co.). Walter's father was Elmer Hoy, also Centre Co., wife's name unknown, but later remarried to Henry Vogel.
Spoken history in our family has it that we are decendants of a "Karl Heu" who ventured from Lebanon Co., PA and settled in what is now Centre Co. around 1758, or perhaps that was Karl's year of birth. Anyway, lots and lots of Hoy's in Centre Co. who believe we have substantially Pennslyvania German roots. Any hints or information would be greatly appreciated.
