I have started to research my mothers family, the Hoy's. My grandfather was Frank Hoy, born Lewisham, SE London in 1906. His father was David Hoy, born around 1864/5. I can't find a birth entry for him in the GRO. I know he was in the army, possibly the Lancers and fought in the Boer war. Anybody have any more info ?
