Thanks for that info.The Charlestown, Washington Co., RI reference VERY interesting because the Narraganset people were centered there in the 1800's and I have info that perhaps one of the members of my own family was a member of the Narraganset nation dated 1881.They are in the Census as well.
If you have done any research on the Native American people you will find that names, dates, and places of birth change from census to census.It is frustrating, but then the times were a whole lot different then they are now.
Do you know Who Rachel married?They usually married into their own people and a lot of times, they moved around a Lot making it even more difficult to locate them.Records on these folks are Not too plentiful...but Don't Give Up.Scrounge and search relentlessly.It has Definitely paid off for me.My 3rd great grandfather was (and I quote the records)... an "Indian" doctor.He lived in ME and MA for many years and most likely traveled around a great deal with bands of Native American's selling their crafts and performing acts to earn money.
