I am researching Benjamin HOWLETT (1803-1870) of South Elmham St Peters in SFK with descendants in nearby Ilketshall St Andrews.

Benjamin H married Charlotte GIRLING in 1826 at Bungay and their youngest son Walter (1845-1913) emigrated to Australia where he married my grandmother. Benjamin was the oldest of 11 children of Samuel H (b.1777 Sth Elm St P) and his wife Hannah LINCOLN (b.1782 Wrentham, SFK).

This Samuel H was one of 10 children born to John H and his wife Anne CLUTTON (m. 15 May 1770) also from Sth Elm St P. I understand that other HOWLETTs (very possibly related to my Samuel) from the Sth Elm area emigrated to Canada and apparently perished in an outbreak of cholera in 1832 near Bridgeport, Ontario.

If these names ring bells with other HOWLETT family researchers, I'd love to hear from you.
