Sorry for the slow response. Thanks for the book info. My efforts haven't gotten that far yet. If it's not a problem, I would like to know the other sources you mention so that I can follow up on them as time permits.
It seems like so much of the success of our research efforts are tied to connecting with one another at the right time. For example, after I read your message I read back through the threads in the Howland forum and found a number of threads pertaining to various descendants of Henry Howland, some of which seemed promising to follow up. The unfortunate thing was that they may date back to 1999 or so and the contact info for the correspondents no longer works. That's when I wish someone was actively collating the tidbits from all those threads into a more cohesive document.
