The fly leaf of my G Grandmother's bible reads as follows:
Presented to Mrs. R. Montgomery, May 13,1912 of Soo, Mich by Mr. M.A. Howerton of Biwabik, Minn.
My G Grandmother: Mary "Spiers" Pierce, b. Ontario, Canada, married Robert Montgomery, Mono Twp, Simcoe County, Ontario, 1858. This family produced 9 children. The family immigrated to the USA, 1881, and settled in Bruce Twp, Chippewa County, Michigan about 9 miles south of Sault Ste. Marie,"Soo", Mich. I notice that several queries have been made in both this Forum and it's Canadian sister Forum by ladies with the maiden name of both Speers & Pierce I assume that my Mary "Spiers" Pierce 1st marriage was to Pierce and her 2nd husband was Robert MOntgomery. Do I have any takers??
