Pat,
Thank you (again) for sharing information on Andrew Howell from your book. The timing on these personal property tax lists from Loudoun and then Bedford permit a strong inference that the Andrew Howell who witnessed the 1792 Power of Attorney from widow Mary (John) Harris of Botetourt to her son, Asa Harris of Loudoun, was physically in the Botetourt/Bedford area at the time he witnessed the POA, and so is likely NOT the Andrew of 1820 Monroe County, OH (unlikely migratory pattern). So for now, I am going with the tentative conclusion that Andrew Howell, son of Hugh and Margaret (Hickson??) Howell of Loudoun, married a daughter of Samuel and Mary (John) Harris in Loudoun, and then moved to the Bedford/Botetourt area with his widowed mother-in-law and possibly other Harrises.Of course, it is also possible, even likely, that Andrew was related, perhaps as a cousin, to the Abner Howell of Bedford/Botetourt (who left an 1812 Will).
Thanks again.
