BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for Myrtice Howell Cox will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Cypress Baptist Church, Benton, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Pierce and Rev. Tommy Patton. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.
Mrs. Cox was born May 29, 1927 in Plain Dealing, LA to Alvin C. and Alma Lee Maxwell Howell and passed away October 18, 2009 in Bossier City, LA. She was a charter member of Cypress Baptist Church, a member of the WMU and a homemaker.
Her husband, Richard Cox, parents, and brother, Bill Howell preceded her in death.
She is survived by sons, Alvin Cox and wife Donna, Kenny Cox and wife Sheri, James Cox and wife Linda, Doug Cox, Steve Cox and wife Martha, Kevin Cox; daughters, Sue Weathersby and husband Eddie, Darla Cox and Joanie Cox; sisters, Clellice Bailey, Joyce Pizzuto; brothers, J. C. Howell and wife Betsy and Bobby J. Howell and wife Flora: 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Mrs. Cox as pallbearers will be Mark Brown, Gerald Brown, Roger Zimmerman, Ronnie Howell, Bobby Howell, Jr., Michael Howell, Terry Bailey and Calvin Howell. Honorary pallbearer will be Henry Cantrell.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Cypress Baptist Church, P O Box 340, Benton, LA 71006 or Odyssey Hospice, 8508 Line Ave Suite A, Shreveport, LA 71106. Rose-Neath Funeral Home
