In Hinshaw's "Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy", the Records of Fairfax (Virginia) Monthly Meeting state that Hannah Howell (formerly Harris, daughter of Samuel) com 25-10-1766; mou [married out of unity] 8th month last; dis'd [disowned or dimissed] on advice from Hopewell MM. She was likely between the ages of 18 and 25 at her marriage to a Howell in about October 1766, and so was most likely born between 1741 and 1748. Therefore, she was more likely the daughter of Samuel Harris "Jr." (and his wife, Mary (John) Harris) than of Samuel Harris Sr. (and his wife Esther). Samuel Harris Jr. wrote a will, dated May 10, 1782 and probated on April 14, 1783 in Loudoun County, Virginia, naming three sons, Thomas, Samuel and William.
In 1768 there was a Quaker marriage of Aaron Hackney and Hannah Gregg at which the witnesses included a Samuel Harris, Mary Harris and Hannah Howell. I believe these three were Sam Jr., his wife Mary (John) Harris, and their married daughter, Hannah (Harris) Howell. Also present at this marriage was a David Howell.
In reviewing tax lists for Loudoun County from 1762-1771, there were a couple of young, single Howell men who might have married Hannah Harris. They include a Daniel Howell (who was in the household of Timothy Howell) and a Charles Howell.
