Hi Trisha,
I was looking up the lineage for my husband, who is a Howe, and came across Joseph Disher Howe and Hannah Malissa Putman. Malissa is spelled with an "a" and our daughter is named after her! My husband, Mike Howe, is a decendent of James Issac Howe, your GG Grandmother's little brother, who was born in 1869. From what I have been told Malissa (this is what she was called around here) Putman died in childbirth in 1873. Aurelius, where they lived, has been called Howe's Corner by the locals since so many Howes lived there. It is truly just a four corner stop in the middle of nowhere. James Issac married Ada Henry and moved to Eaton Rapids, Michigan. They had 10 children. One of their sons was Harold Howe and this was my husband's grandfather.

I do not know the ancestors of Jospeh Disher Howe or Hannah Malissa Putman. I have been trying to find that information myself. My husband's Aunt Teri seems to be the ancestor expert so I will ask her for any info she can give us.

Marjorie
