History for the Howdeshell family in Lincoln County, Missouri can be located at the Elsberry, Missouri city library. Much of the history was donated by Leo Howdeshell (now deceased)- he was a family historian and lived on part of the original homestead in Lincoln County, Missouri (homesteaded in the 1800's and passed down through the family). This family lineage could be traced from Missouri to Kentucky, then New Jersey after they arrived in the U.S. from the Netherlands.
