A young lady friend of mine….My brother Leonard Jarvis, Member of Congress for the Eastern District of the State of Maine……his friend Mr. Speight…..by him was advised to apply to you……...Mr. John Burgonin administrate on the Estate of a Mr. Spooner formerly of Boston……Mr. Spooner died I think in Dec.1801 …. Must be between 1787 and 1807……wife of Mr. Spooner who was a Miss Nancy Howard daughter of Martin Howard former Chief Justice of North Carolina…..lady friend ….is the daughter of Mr. Spooner and his wife formerly Nancy Howard……note scribbled on outside Charles Spooner of New Bern….died 1799
