Bob,
perhaps I interpreted the deed incorrectly.I took it to mean that Mark and Cassandra Barry were leaving a legacy to their children Fanny and James and any others that would be born to them later.Have you read the original by chance?
I have a marriage date for Mark and Cassandra as abt 1798.Do you have a different one?
Looking at the censuses for 1800 and 1810, I am assuming that Mark and Cassandra were married before 1800 because Mark appears in the 1800 census with a household of 1 female 16-26 who I am assuming would be Cassandra. In 1802 Cassandra Berry is a witness to a deed between Bridger Jones and Jacob Meadows (Jones Co DB J, p. 264-5) By 1810 there are 3 males under 10 in Mark's household plus 1 female 16-26 and 1 female 26-45.I had assumed that the 3 males under 10 were James, Josiah and David and that Hardy was born after the census but before Lewis was born 1815. Fanny doesn't really fit in the time frame if the census correctly identifies her age as between 16 and 26.She would have to be under 10 to be Cassandra's daughter.
Can you clarify any of this?
