Jennifer "Jennie" Houx is the daughter of Joseph Houx & Willie Bell. Jennie was born in Texas and married Wyatt Wilson Dickey in 1894. She had four daughters and three sons. Jennie died in childbirth, in 1913 and the child did not survive. Jennie's brother George died in 1918, leaving behind a widow and two children. George's widow, Annie Gamble Houx, then married Jennie's Widower, Wyatt Wilson Dickey.

Joseph Houx was born in Booneville, Cooper County, Missouri in 1844. He first married Nannie J. Collins around 1870. They had two children: Doda and George. Nannie died in 1875. Joseph then married Willie Ann Bell July 4, 1880. Joseph appears in the 1880 Census of Palo Pinto County, Texas. Their first child was born in 1881 in Strawn, Palo Pinto County, Texas. Joseph died in 1906 in Texas.
