The 1930 census is odd in that Troy seems to be too young to be the father of the older children. There's also a big gap between the youngest and second youngest, making me wonder if the older children are really stepchildren.
By 1940 Bessie was widowed.Living with her are 11 yr old son Troy HOUSTON Jr, 25 yr old son Melvin HARRIS and a lodger, Theora COOPER.In 1930 Melvin is listed as Malvin HOUSTON.
There's a OH death record for Troy HOUSTON b. 1902 in AR, d. 31-Jan-1934 in Toledo, Lucas, OH.Parents were Tom and Susie HOUSTON, wife was Bessie HOUSTON.

Thomas HOUSTON's WWI draft registration gives his date of birth as 28-Aug-1881.
In 1940 Altha HUMPHREYS is living in Redland, Sequoyah, OK, with her daughter Ida THOMPSON and Ida's husband, Hosea.
