Henry of Kings Mountain, NC/SC appears to have spelled his name as "HOWSER" according to the census records that I found, the Park Service, and Elmer Houser, who wrote a book - "Descendants of JOHN HOUSER (1709-1763)" about the HOUSER family.I am not sure that we are related, but my mother and I were born in Charlotte, NC, and we spell the name HOWSER.You might be a descendant of John Henry HOWSER.John Henry HOWSER was a brother to my great grandfather, and I know nothing about him.H. A. "Bud" BARRETT is not mentioned in Elmer'sbook, but my family was not mentioned either, after my great grand father.Or you could be a descendant of an entirely different group of HOUSER / HOWSER families. My family did not move to Charlotte, until the 1900's.
