Thank you.I spent the weekend searching, and have found a ton of documents, including civil war information, that proves without a doubt, Andrew is indeed my g-g-grandpa.
And Elznea was my g-g-grandma.(I was also able to verify a couple names with some elders in the family).
I found that his father's name is Samuel H. Houser, b. abt 1819 in Ohio. But the only one I find there appears to have also died in Ohio. But that is not him.Samuel H. Houser was married to Rhoda ?, and they had Peter (or PP) Houser b. 1839 OH, Andrew b. 1842 OH, Moses b. 1846 OH, Asa b. 1855 MO, and Louisa b. 1857 KS.
They evidently arrived in KS in either 1855 or 1856.Samuel was listed as a voter in KS by 1856.
But, the only Samuel that I could find born in OH, abt 1819, does not appear to be the correct match.Hoping that someone may have information or ideas.
Thank you soooo much!
Genealogy is addicting
Rhonda
