Maybe this is linked: Samuel H. Houser, born about 1819 in Ohio, possibly in Perry County, and after 1880 in found in Marysville, Miami County, Kansas. His wife is Rhoda Goodin, daughter of Moses Goodin and Susannah Hartsell, born about 1820 in Ohio, perhaps Perry County. I am trying to discover who Samuel H. Houser's parents are, said to be born in Virginia. These are my notes on him:
1860 Lykens County, Kansas, PO Stanton, page 167, dwelling 54, family #52; Saml. H. Houser, 41, born Ohio, real estate $2500, farmer, Rhoda Houser, 40, born Ohio, Peter Houser, 20 born Ohio, farmer, Andrew Houser 18, Ohio, Moses, 15, Ohio, Asa, 6 Missouri, Louise, 4, Kansas Territory.
FYI There was no Simon P., Simon, or Peter Houser, 20, born in Ohio, in Ohio in 1860.
Samuel H. Houser married Rodey Gooden 10 Sep 1843 in Perry Co., OH. If Simon was born 1840-1842, Rhoda may not be his mother or Simon doesn't know when he was born or he is Samuel's brother, not son.…' & 'Samuel says he was born in Ohio and his parents in Virginia …';
"1880 United States Federal Census":
Name: Rhoda Houser
Home in 1880: Marysville, Miami, Kansas
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1820
Birthplace: Ohio
Relation to Head of Household: Wife
Spouse's Name: Samuel
Father's birthplace: New Jersey
Mother's birthplace: Pennsylvania
Occupation: Keeping House
Marital Status: Married
Race: White
Gender: Female
Samuel Houser, age 60[born in 'Ohio' & both his parents born in 'Virginia']
Rhoda Houser, age 60
Moses Houser, age 30
Asa Houser, age 25
I certainly would welcome comment and information.
