Sorry my mistake I was referring to Josiah Sawyer Houghton who married Betsey Fitch and was actually a nephew not sister to my Nancy Bennett. In this group is also a niece Lydia Houghton who married an Oren J. Fitch. According to Dick Dutton's Master File Richardson Houghton's son James Richardson Houghton 1839 NY had children born in Missouri, including an Arthur James 1874. The article that I have has a Martin Hooten and a brother James Hooten. Martin's obit says he was born December 15, 1839 Missouri. James Richardson is shown with 5 children born in Missouri but much later and James does not appear to have a sibling Martin. There are other Houghton's in Healdsburg also. At this early point Healdsburg went by different names for the same locations: such as Mendocino Township, Sonoma county etc. As you can see there are links between Bennett, Fitch, Houghton but what they really are is unclear to me. My line tended to marry with in a tight social cirle, over multiple generations. There is a lot more in this obit and there are many other news articles. I will try to get more of these for you. Yes, I would appreciate the genealogy for Otis. Thanks
