The following reference to the family of Gen. Samuel H. Dosh and Eleanor Frances Crawford is from p. 1018 of the Hottel History.
Eleanor Frances Crawford, b. at Woodstock, Va. 20 Oct. 1832, d. Sept. 18, 1897, m. first Oct. 7, 1856, Gen. Samuel H. Dosh of Shasta California, who died in 1861. Second marriage to Dr. John Milton Briceland. Children:
Anna Swan Dosh, b. 1857, d. San Francisco Calif. in summer 1923, unmarried.
Eleanor Crawford Dosh, d. in 1923, unmarried.
Samuella Dosh, died in the winter of 1924, unmarried.
Newton S. Briceland, b. in 1865, d. 1910, unmarried
Jessie Milton Briceland, b. after 1870 in San Francisco.
From p. 1016 we find that Eleanor Frances was daughter of Elizabeth Gaw, b. 24 Oct. 1802 and David Jameson Crawford, b. in PA. 1790, died in 1846. They lived at Woodstock and later Strasburg.
Elizabeth Gaw was daughter of Robert Gaw and Barbara Rinker and granddaughter of Jacob and Mary Keller Rinker, great-granddaughter of George and Barbara Hottel Keller.

From my own research I find that Samuel Dosh was son of William and Ann Swann Dosh, of Strasburg, VA. William was son of Christopher Dosh and Maria Margaretha Becker, daughter of Heironymus Becker (Baker) early settler near Strasburg, VA.
