I have a book of Hotts. There are several Jacobs. First is Jacob F. Hott (1790-1856). Jacob H. Hott son of Henry and Christine (Loy) born Oct 20, 1790 in Berkley Co, VA and died March 27, 1865 in Pickaway Co, OH. HE emigrated w/his brothers to OH in 1810. He married Catherine Cook Sept 21, 1818 . She died and he then married Julia Burwell. He served in the War of 1812, He is buried in Harrison Township Asbury Cemetery. He had a son, Jacob (1843-1923) HE married Martha Pettgrew. If any of this is helpful, let me know. There are still books available, I believe. It is called "One Man's Family". My grandmother was a Hott. Thanks Carol
