Sorry to disagree with Author Kuykendall, but these names & dates belong to my great grandfather, Ross MELVILLE Hott.
Ross's father's name was unknown and he was raised in the household of his uncle Peter, as mentioned in my first message. The supposed name of his father, "Lavia Bennett", looks a lot like the name of his first wife, Laura Bennett, my great grandmother. I think this must be attributed to an editor error. My grandmother was Ross's and Laura's first child, Helen R. Hott (Worstell).
